The seminar organized by TURBOMED SA in cooperation with Marine Superintendent Engineers Club for the new innovative services of Portable Dynamic Balancing on board, which took place in the club’s hall on March 14th and 21st, was successfully completed.
The aim of the seminar was to inform about the new perspectives and possibilities offered by this new global innovation in the repair and maintenance of turbochargers directly on board. This process avoids removing the rotor shaft, which is time-consuming, costly, and often unfeasible.
Having as a starting point that the rotor shaft is a high-speed rotating part of it and the dynamic balancing is of paramount importance, the lecturer at the seminar Mr. Theofanis Lampropoulos, Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Patras-MBA, approached theoretically and practically the necessity of dynamic balancing, as well as the consequences of shaft unbalance.
In the light of scientific and technological level, the seminar offered new essential information to the participating Chief Engineers and Engineers of the shipping companies, who responded to the call and had the opportunity to enrich their knowledge and discuss any questions they might have had about the worldwide patented exclusive service of Portable Dynamic Balancing.
Fully trained engineers are always available to provide one of the most comprehensive turbocharger repair packages on board anywhere on the world, combining the expertise and technological excellence in operation and maintenance, offered through the Portable Dynamic Balancing device.
